Does a laptop battery explode if it gets too hot?

I am facing issues with my laptop; it often gets too hot in very little time after starting. So I wanna ask, would it explode or not?

It’s rare, but yes — if a laptop battery (especially lithium-ion) gets extremely hot or damaged, it can swell, leak, or in the worst case, explode. Modern laptops have safety features to prevent this, but if you notice your battery overheating or bulging, stop using it and get it replaced right away.
